Andrés’ Portfolio

Hi!

I’m Andrés Jaimes

I’m an educator and a learning designer

About me

Hey there! I'm Andrés Jaimes, and I go by he/they pronouns. Currently, I'm diving deep into the world of education as part of the Apprenticeship and Teaching (AT) program at CNDLS while also pursuing my M.A. in Learning, Design, and Technology right here in vibrant DC.

Originally hailing from Bucaramanga, Colombia, I earned my B.A. in English with a focus on bilingual education at Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS). My journey has taken me from South America to the United States, where I've primarily worked as an ESL instructor, guiding native Spanish speakers on their language journey.

My passion lies in making higher education more accessible, especially for the Latine/Latinx community in the U.S. I'm determined to break down the barriers that often stand in the way of Latinx students reaching their academic dreams.

Outside of my educational pursuits, I'm a curious explorer at heart, always seeking out new experiences, whether it's trying exotic cuisines or jetting off to discover hidden gems around the globe.

Let's connect and explore the world of learning together!
